CARRIAGE HOUSE
This late 1800’s carriage house renovation was the perfect project to bring life and functionality back to the space that was once used to house the carriage and horses when the property was first established in the area that is now known as the Broadmoor. The clients needed a space separate from the main house that was functional for the numerous guests they entertain regularly, as well as for out of town guests to have a comfortable place to stay. We brought back a lot of original elements from its glory days as a carriage house, while making the space more modern in design and functionality. Custom built bunk beds ensure that guests have a cozy space of their own while visiting, while still allowing for the floor plan to remain open for the rest of the space to be used appropriately. Painting the ceilings white while leaving the beams in their natural state allows for an airier feel to the intimate space, while drawing your eye forward to give the illusion of a much larger area. Custom barn doors remain closed while the TV is not in use, but when open, blocks any natural light that should come through the windows. Guests can now enjoy a space of their own while visiting.
